Another One Under the Belt

Hello everyone,

Another NYC adventure is complete!  The new one-week treatment made a tremendous difference in everyone's psyche.  Despite the heavier doses of antibodies and narcotics that are needed, it seemed easier for Lara and Noah to cope given the fact that it would be all over in a matter of 5 days.....not 12 (including the weekends).  The shortened trip also made it easier on Sarah and I as well as our support group.

Noah is up to 50+ pounds and he grew a little over the past 8 weeks.  His bloodwork looked very healthy and balanced...all great signs that he continues to improve and recover from the past 2 years of chemo rounds, multiple surgeries, radiation and immunotherapy treatments.  Noah will travel back to NYC Dec 13-16 for a full workup of scans and bone marrow biopsies.  Please keep Noah in your thought and prayers during these days.

Noah_and_sarah_halloween_2006Noah has been thriving with school, karate, and baseball.  He and Sarah had a blast for Halloween and choose to be "the Scream."  The scariest costume that he could find.

The Nelson family would like to wish everyone the best during the holiday season.  For us, it is crazy to think where we were this time last year.  We are blessed and thankful for Noah's strength, our family, friends and doctors, and our support system throughout the land.  Once again we are asking for a $5 donation to Lunch for Life in the name of Noah.  Lunch for Life is an amazing organization that is run by a dad of a child fighting the beast.  All money that is raised goes to research.  During our last trip to New York we saw too many kids in a relapse situation  and too many of our fellow warriors have lost the battle recently.  Lunch for Life is a great way to bring us closer to a cure.  Plus Noah will be entered in a drawing to win a trip to Disney World.  Our giving tree code is 19465.

To you we toast!
